Escape to Miami
From Frozen Peaks to Warm Water
You spent the winter on the mountain. Now trade powder for turquoise, ski boots for bare feet, and cold air for Caribbean sun. Your yacht is waiting in Miami.

Leave the Crowds Behind
Ski season takes everything you have. From December through March, your weekends belong to the mountain — early alarms, icy roads, lift lines, frozen fingers gripping poles, and the satisfying exhaustion of a full day on the slopes. By late March, your legs are tired, your skin is dry, and the snow is turning heavy and wet. The season winds down not with a bang but with slush and closing announcements. One morning you wake up and realize you have been cold for four straight months.
The transition from ski season to warm weather does not have to be gradual. A direct flight from Denver, Salt Lake City, or Burlington to Miami takes 4 to 5 hours. By the afternoon, you are stepping onto a yacht in 80-degree air. The contrast is not subtle — it is a full sensory reset. Warm salt air instead of thin mountain air. Turquoise water instead of white snow. The sound of waves instead of ski edges on ice. Your body has been working hard for months. This is the reward it earned.
Late March and April are ideal timing. Miami is in the sweet spot between winter peak and summer heat — warm, dry, and uncrowded compared to the holiday months. The Bahamas water is pristine. And after a season of early mornings and physical effort, the pace of a yacht charter — slow, warm, unscheduled — is exactly what you need.
Why Miami
The Water is Calling
Miami in late March and April feels like a different planet compared to a ski town in the same period. While Vail is dealing with spring runoff and Stowe is entering mud season, Miami offers calm seas, 80-degree air, and water temperatures approaching the upper 70s. It is not just warm — it is the kind of warm that seeps into your bones after months of cold. Your body notices immediately.
The Bahamas crossing from Miami takes about 2.5 hours and delivers you to Bimini — an island where the water is so clear that snorkeling feels like floating in air. The pace on the island is slow, the beaches are uncrowded, and the food is fresh. For someone coming off a high-intensity ski season, the decompression is almost instant. A three-day weekend getaway is enough to feel like a completely different person.
Our yachts are equipped for comfort after a physical season. Air-conditioned cabins for sleeping in, sun decks for warming up, snorkel gear for exploring underwater, and water toys for playing in warm shallows. Every charter includes a captain and crew, so you do not have to plan anything. You just show up, step on, and let the water do the rest.

Post-Ski Season — Caribbean Yacht Escape — FAQ
When does ski season typically end?
Most major ski resorts in Colorado, Utah, and Vermont close between late March and mid-April. Some higher-elevation resorts extend into early May. Late March through April is the ideal window for transitioning from the slopes to the water.
How long is the flight from ski country to Miami?
Denver to Miami is about 4 hours direct. Salt Lake City to Miami is approximately 5 hours. Burlington, Vermont to Miami is about 4 hours with a connection. Direct flights from Denver and SLC run daily throughout spring.
What is the weather like in Miami in late March and April?
Air temperatures range from 75 to 85 degrees. Water temperatures are in the upper 70s. Humidity is moderate and rain is infrequent. Seas are generally calm. It is considered the tail end of peak boating season — excellent conditions without the heavy winter crowds.
Is this a good trip for a group of ski buddies?
Absolutely. Groups of 4-13 are ideal for a yacht charter. You have the whole vessel to your group — no strangers, no shared space. BYOB is welcome, and our captain handles everything. It is the same group energy as a ski trip, but with warm water instead of cold snow.
Can we snorkel and swim during a post-ski trip?
Yes. Water temperatures in late March and April are in the upper 70s — comfortable for extended swimming and snorkeling. We provide snorkel gear on select vessels, and the Bahamas and Florida Keys offer some of the clearest water in the Western Hemisphere.
