Escape to Miami

Dust Off. Dive In.

Burning Man left you dusty, tired, and transformed. Now trade the playa for the ocean — warm Caribbean water, clean salt air, and a private yacht to recover on.

From Black Rock Desert, Nevada

Leave the Crowds Behind

Burning Man leaves a mark. Not just the alkaline dust that takes weeks to fully wash out of your hair and your gear, but the deeper kind — the sensory overload of art installations that stretch across the desert, the music that plays from dawn until dawn again, the conversations with strangers that feel more real than anything you have said in months. For a week, you live in a temporary city of 70,000 people in the Black Rock Desert, and it rewires something in your brain. Then the Temple burns, the city folds, and you drive back to Reno in a line of dusty vehicles that stretches to the horizon.

The post-Burn re-entry is famously difficult. You go from radical self-expression and infinite possibility to grocery stores, emails, and fluorescent lighting. Your body is dehydrated, sun-beaten, and running on fumes. Your mind is still processing everything you experienced. What you need is not a return to routine — it is a gentle transition. A place where the pace is slow, the air is clean, and the water is warm enough to just float in for an hour without thinking about anything.

A private yacht in Miami is that transition space. September timing lines up perfectly — Burning Man ends the week before Labor Day, and Miami in September is warm, uncrowded, and at its most relaxed. You trade alkaline dust for salt water. Desert heat for ocean breeze. The playa's flat, cracked horizon for the curved blue line where the Caribbean meets the sky. Your recovery does not happen in your apartment. It happens on the water.

Why Miami

The Water is Calling

The contrast between Black Rock Desert and Biscayne Bay is total and intentional. After a week of dust storms, port-a-potties, and dehydration, a yacht with air conditioning, a freshwater shower, a full galley, and warm turquoise water surrounding you in every direction is not luxury for its own sake — it is medicine. Your skin needs moisture. Your lungs need salt air. Your mind needs open space with no stimulation except the sound of waves.

September in Miami is shoulder season, which means lighter crowds, better availability, and baseline pricing. The water is at its warmest — low 80s — and the Bahamas are in prime condition for a short crossing. Bimini's shallow beaches are the kind of calm, crystal-clear environment where you can float on your back and stare at the sky for an hour. For someone coming off the sensory intensity of the playa, that kind of stillness is exactly right.

For groups interested in a wellness-oriented recovery, we can arrange add-ons like onboard massage, chef-prepared meals with hydrating menus, yoga mats on the sun deck, and snorkel excursions to reefs teeming with marine life. The yacht becomes your recovery retreat — private, floating, and completely on your terms. No schedules, no camps, no MOOP sweeps. Just you, the water, and whatever pace your body needs.

Common Questions

Post-Burning Man — Caribbean Recovery Yacht Cruise — FAQ

When does Burning Man end and when should I book?

Burning Man typically runs the last week of August through Labor Day (first Monday in September). We recommend booking your yacht charter for the week following the Burn — fly from Reno to Miami (approximately 5 hours with a connection) and give yourself a day to settle before boarding.

Is this a good recovery trip for a Burn camp group?

Absolutely. Groups of 4-13 are ideal for a yacht charter. Many Burn camps travel together as a group, and a yacht charter is the perfect way to extend that community bond while transitioning back to the default world. For larger camps, we coordinate multi-vessel charters.

Can we arrange healthy meals on board?

Yes. We offer private chef add-ons who can prepare hydrating, nourishing meals tailored to post-Burn recovery — fresh fruits, grilled fish, salads, smoothies, and plenty of water and electrolytes. Let us know your dietary preferences and we handle the provisioning.

What is the weather like in Miami in September?

Air temperatures in the mid-80s, water temperatures in the low 80s. It is warm and comfortable for swimming all day. Brief afternoon thunderstorms are possible but predictable and short-lived. September is shoulder season — lighter crowds and good availability.

Is there somewhere on the yacht to actually rest and sleep?

Yes. Our mid-size and large yachts have air-conditioned cabins with proper beds, freshwater showers, and full bathrooms. After a week of sleeping in a tent on the playa, an air-conditioned cabin with clean sheets is transformative. Sun decks with cushioned lounging areas are also available for napping in the breeze.
