Common Questions
Bahamas Weekend Getaway by Yacht — FAQ
Is a weekend enough time for the Bahamas?
Yes. Bimini is only 2.5 hours from Miami, so you do not lose a full day to travel. A Friday-to-Sunday charter gives you one full day on the island plus two half days — plenty of time for beaches, snorkeling, and genuine relaxation. Many guests tell us the weekend getaway is one of the best short trips they have ever taken.
What time should we plan to arrive and depart Miami?
Plan to be at the marina by 8-9 AM Friday for a morning departure. On Sunday, you will return to Miami by early-to-mid afternoon. If you are flying in and out, a Thursday evening arrival and a Sunday evening departure work well.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes. BYOB is welcome. Bring your own food, drinks, and snacks for the trip. We provide coolers with ice. If you prefer, we can arrange full provisioning before your departure so everything is loaded and ready when you arrive at the yacht.
What if the sea is too rough for the crossing?
Your captain monitors sea conditions closely. If the Gulf Stream crossing is too rough on your departure day, we adjust the schedule — either delaying by a few hours for conditions to improve or offering an alternative itinerary along the Miami coastline and Keys. Safety is the priority, and your captain will not cross in unsafe conditions.
Do we need passports?
Yes. Every guest must have a valid passport to enter the Bahamas. Your captain handles the customs clearance process in Bimini, but all guests need their passports on board. Make sure passports are not expired before the trip.
